Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

Locums Opportunity - Lufkin, Texas - Cardiovascular / Cardiothoracic Surgery

Clinical Role:

• Open Dates: September 17 (7a) - September 21 (7a); ongoing coverage needed until further notice

• Schedule: 7a-7a shifts

• Setting: Primarily inpatient surgical coverage for ED and referred elective cases

• FTE: 1.0 (will consider multiple surgeons to build full-time coverage)

• Duties: Full-scope CV surgical coverage

• Procedures: Must be able to perform full range of cardiovascular surgery; vein harvesting required (hospital may provide PA support depending on volume)

• Patient Volume: 10-15 per day

• Support: Typical hospital and clinic resources

• EMR:

• Clinic: Cerner Mckesson Cardiology

• Hospital: Paragon & CHS Proprietary

• Reason for Need: Separation from current employed surgeon

  Requirements:

  • Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

  • Fellowship in CV surgery required

  • Active Texas medical license or IMLC Accepted

  • BLS & ACLS (can be completed on-site if needed)

  • Clean malpractice history (required for emergency privileges)
