Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

Hospital Rounding: Early morning (7a-8a) alongside an APP

Call: 24-hour call; APP support always available (clinic, hospital, and overnight)

EMR: Epic

Clinical Scope:

• Comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical procedures including:

• Coronary artery bypass

• Aortic surgery

• Valvular surgery (repair and replacement)

• Atrial fibrillation/left atrial appendage management

• Endovascular aneurysm repair

• Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)

Pre- and post-operative management with a full multi-disciplinary team

Candidate Requirements:

• MD/DO from an accredited institution

• Completed general surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship (or integrated program)

• Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery

• Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license (or eligibility)

• Current, unrestricted DEA

• AHA certifications required (BLS, ACLS, etc.)

• Proficiency across a wide range of adult cardiothoracic procedures

• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills with commitment to high-quality patient care
