Surgery Attendant

Summary:
As a Surgery Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow and providing safe patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership by embodying the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Transport patients and medical equipment while adhering to appropriate safety protocols.
• Prepare beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs for patient transfers to maintain a clean and efficient environment.
• Engage warmly with staff, patients, families, and visitors, providing them with direction and information while facilitating language translation as needed.
• Assist registered nurses with surgical patient positioning, transfers, and the application and removal of casts.
• Respond promptly to assignments and deliver essential items between departments.
• Support nursing staff by maintaining high standards of care and a quick response to patient needs.
• Restock supplies, clean and defrost refrigerators, and keep equipment in good order.
• Ensure that patient transfer and transport equipment is fully functional.
• Contribute as a member of the surgical team.
• Adapt caregiving methods to meet the diverse needs of patients based on their physical, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental characteristics.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Preferred 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• BLS certification required.
