Summer 2026 Intern - mRNA Analytical Science Biochemistry - Vaccine
As a mRNA Intern Student in Analytical Sciences, you will participate in analytical development activities to support the development and characterization of mRNA vaccines in development.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform mRNA vaccine analytical testing in the lab, data analysis, and related document writing with a critical look at the relevance of the results.
- Perform sample preparation following existing SOPs or analytical procedures.
- Develop analytical characterization methods and perform testing for mRNA drug substance and mRNA-LNP drug product.
- Perform chromatography method development, optimization, qualification, and testing.
- Perform data analysis, and related document writing with a critical look at the relevance of the results.
- Develop and write work plans/protocols.
- Summarize and communicate the progress of your work.
- Participate in laboratory automation to set up high-throughput analyses.
- Accompany and train newcomers in analytical technologies and methods.
- Participate in laboratory organization activities (management/maintenance of equipment, reception & verification of reagents and receipt of samples).
- Comply to Sanofi Quality standards and HSE policy. Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory safety and quality compliance.
About You:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or other STEM related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027.
- Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi.
- Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
