Structural Welder

The Structural Welder will be responsible for welding and assembling skids for modular cooling systems. This role involves welding on I-beams and other structural pieces to create large skids. The candidate must be able to pass a 3G and 4G MIG root with Flux pass on a 1/2 inch carbon plate weld test.

Responsibilities

• Weld and assemble skids for modular cooling systems.
• Weld on I-beams and other structural pieces to create large skids.
• Perform vertical and overhead welding.
• Engage in grinding and gouging activities.
• Ensure all welding meets the required quality standards.
• Operate overhead cranes to move heavy materials.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a structural welder in a manufacturing company.
• Proficiency in MIG and FLUX welding techniques.
• Experience with vertical and overhead welding.
• Skilled in grinding and gouging.
• Ability to pass a 3G and 4G test with Flux and MIG on carbon plate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience welding on skids.
• Shop experience.
• Experience operating overhead cranes.

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing shop that is non-climate controlled. The schedule includes Monday to Friday work with some Saturdays required. The day shift runs from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, and the night shift runs from 4:30 PM to 2/3 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
