Structural Engineer

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Strong understanding of steel design principles and proficient in wind load calculations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting plans and details
• Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel to project sites as needed, which may occasionally require trips lasting 2-5 days, mainly throughout Florida

Plusses:

• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
• Understanding of concrete design principles
• Experience with structural design software

DAY-TO-DAY:

1. Conduct telecommunication tower analyses and retrofit designs to ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.

2. Perform analyses of existing rooftop and ground-mounted equipment platforms to assess structural stability and propose necessary modifications.

3. Design new rooftop and ground-mounted equipment platforms to support telecommunication infrastructure.

4. Conduct structural surveys of existing structures to identify potential issues and evaluate their fitness for supporting telecommunications equipment.

5. Carry out field inspections to assess the condition of telecommunication towers and related structures.

6. Prepare calculation reports and respond to jurisdictional comments regarding structural designs and analyses.

7. Demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical and grounding systems as they relate to telecommunication infrastructure.

8. Utilize AutoCAD to draft plans and details for telecommunication tower designs and retrofit projects.
