Structural Engineer

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our team to provide engineering, design, and consulting services in support of our Southeast Water/Wastewater/Water Resource clients. The Jacobs team is the largest water practice in the Atlanta market with a team of 125 determined, high-performing individuals working with most major metro-area clients on a vast array of projects.

This is an opportunity to work on the largest, most complex water projects in the Georgia market as part of ENR's #1 Design Firm. This role is based in our Atlanta, GA office and will work closely with both our local team and the Jacobs staff throughout the company. Jacobs is home to many of the top subject matter experts (SMEs) in their fields, and the successful candidate will have a chance to learn and grow from these experts. This role will involve working both independently and as part of larger multi-disciplinary teams to develop design concepts, prepare preliminary and detailed designs, support services during construction, and conduct on-site inspections and observations. Duties and Responsibilities

  Provide planning, consulting, design, and construction services for various municipal, federal, industrial, and other clients in various fields, including water, wastewater, and water resources.

  Prepare detailed structural design drawings and construction specifications.

• n

  Coordinate structural project work with architectural, civil, process, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff.

• n

  Conduct condition assessments for existing buildings and structures.

  n

• n

  Participate in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects.

• n

  Utilize bespoke structural analysis software for structural designs while applying a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering, principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards, and their applications.

  Work with senior SMEs in Atlanta and offices throughout the United States.

• n

  BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering discipline.

• n

  5+ years of experience as a structural engineer - preferably in the Water/Wastewater/Water Resources field.

• n

  Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia with the ability to obtain licensing in other states across the US.

  n

• n

  Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 350, and AISC.

  n

• n

  Knowledge of principles and practices of wind and seismic design, including the ability to apply required provisions of the building code.

• n

  Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team.

• n

  Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ideally, you'll also have

n
• n

  Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.

  n

• n

  Desire to pursue a Structural Engineer (SE) license in Georgia.

• n

  Experience with STAAD Pro, TEDDS, RAM, Autodesk Revit, MicroStation, Mathcad, Bluebeam, and/or BIM skillsets.
