The Optometric Technician at Target Optical creates exceptional value in the lives of patients by delivering exceptional patient service and ensuring all patients receive the highest quality of care. Enthusiastically satisfies patients all the time through exceptional service.

Major Duties And Responsibilities:

• Greets guests without delay when they enter the store.
• Determines the reason for the guest's visit.
• Is attentive to details.
• Shows patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult guests.
• Performs work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and guest volume.
• Demonstrates knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures.
• Handles and files all patient records.
• Places contact lens orders, processes shipments.
• Accurately operates the POS system.
• Takes pride in the appearance of the store.
• Informs management of potential safety opportunities.
• Demonstrates safe work practices.
• Complies with all safety/regulatory requirements.
• Performs all pre-examination testing.
• Utilizes clinical and product knowledge.
• Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of one-year strong guest service skills.
• High School Graduate /GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Sales skills.
• Knowledge of store merchandise.
• Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in guest service, retail or optical.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
