Store Clerk

We are seeking a reliable and professional Store Clerk to temporarily oversee retail operations, customer service, and store management functions. This short-term leadership role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong retail experience, capable of managing inventory, and ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily point-of-sale (POS) operations, ensuring accurate customer transactions including purchases, returns, and exchanges.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Build rapport with customers to understand merchandise needs and support sales initiatives.
• Manage back-office sales transactions and inventory relief processes to support revenue goals.
• Coordinate with store personnel to prepare orders for pickup and assist with deployment operations as needed.
• Oversee inventory receiving, verification, and organization, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentation standards across the sales floor, restrooms, warehouse, and office areas.
• Process shipping orders and store transfers, ensuring timely and accurate system updates.
• Support inventory counts, cycle audits, and shelf organization.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and other assigned duties.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of retail experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

This interim role requires onsite presence 5 days a week during store hours (7:30 AM to 4:00/4:30 PM). Start September 2025- January 2026.

Location: Washington, District of Columbia

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
