Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary:

This position is essential for ensuring the safety and preparedness of reusable medical devices and supplies used in patient care. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing these vital tools. You will also play a key role in the assembly and delivery of surgical case carts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership qualities as outlined in OneCHRISTUS Competencies.
• Thoroughly decontaminate and clean reusable equipment and instruments following OSHA and departmental standards.
• Assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute medical devices and supplies for patient care efficiently.
• Follow strict procedures in accordance with departmental and OSHA guidelines when handling materials.
• Organize, assemble, and dispatch surgical case carts based on physician preference cards.
• Conduct physical inventories of floor stock and SPD, providing input on PAR levels.
• Collaborate with Material Management to monitor supply usage and organization.
• Use inventory control devices and programs, such as Meditech, effectively.
• Communicate clearly with inter/intradepartmental associates.
• Adapt assessment and service methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform duties accordingly.
• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• 1 year of practical application experience in sterile processing or related fields preferred.
• Experience in sterile processing is highly desired.

Certifications:

• HSPA Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Tech (CRCST) preferred.

Work Schedule: 12PM - 8:30PM

Work Type: Per Diem As Needed
