Full Job Description

Home Helpers Home Care of Manassas-Gainesville is looking for reliable, flexible, and dedicated caregivers to join our team in a unique Standby/On-Call Caregiver role. This position is ideal for someone who has open availability, is ready to work on short notice, and enjoys stepping in to make a difference when help is most needed.

Specific Schedule:

On-call coverage during pre-assigned days and times (shifts may rotate weekly) including nights, weekends, and holidays.

This is a great fit for someone who:

• Has minimal outside time commitments (such as family obligations)
• Is seeking consistent hours in a flexible but essential role
• Works well under pressure and enjoys variety in daily assignments

Responsibilities:

• Be available to respond to urgent shift needs within 1 hour of notification
• Provide short-term or emergency coverage for caregivers who are unavailable
• Deliver safe, compassionate care including assistance with daily living activities (bathing, grooming, meals, transfers, companionship, etc.)
• Follow established care plans and document visits accurately
• Communicate promptly and professionally with the office team

Work Environment:

• Must have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule
• Travel required throughout Prince William County and surrounding areas
• Must be open to working overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts (rotate with other caregivers as needed)
• Weekly standby schedule can rotate based on availability and team needs

Qualifications:

• CNA, HHA, or prior caregiving experience preferred
• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Clear background check and valid driver's license (preferred)
• Strong communication, reliability, and problem-solving skills

Compensation:

• Hourly pay for any shifts worked: $18.00$20.00/hour
• Standby retainer pay may be available for designated on-call windows
