Pigweed is a modern open-source microcontroller platform and operating system. We help teams get to market faster with better products by providing a well tested suite of modules. Modules cover areas such as logging, remote procedure call (RPC), an interactive console, factory testing components, continuous on-hardware platform tests, unit testing, portable real-time operating system (RTOS) layer, a Rust kernel, etc. We enhance the microcontroller software world by bringing modern practices to the traditionally C-oriented embedded ecosystem. We ship widely in Pixel and Nest products, as well as in autonomous aerial drones and satellites. Come join us to build the next generation of embedded platforms.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

Design and develop microcontroller platform modules (e.g. over the air (OTA), crash handling, logging, bootloaders, size analysis tooling, kernel development). Manage low-level C, C++, Rust, occasional assembly, as well as Python-level scripting and test development.
Propose new modules and help define the areas that are most impactful for the team to create, by learning about customer needs or from past experience and new modules written in C++, Rust, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
Provide technical leadership on projects, support client and partner teams, and facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
Influence and coach a team of engineers. Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
