As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

In this role, you will be a key driver in producing and maintaining the "Base Images" for all supported Linux distributions- set the standard for quality, security, and performance. You will contribute to the design and enforcement of a framework that brings order and consistency to the ecosystem. You'll manage the approved path for releasing OS images to customers, while meeting high standards. Your influence will extend across the entire OS lifecycle and contribute to building tools that provide transparent monitoring and auditing, empowering federated teams to build efficiently. You will implement and improve the processes that guarantee our OS performs optimally upholding our promise of reliability. You will be an advocate for our customers leveraging partnerships to build on Google Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
