Staff Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, coordinate with financial institutions, and communicate across departments to resolve discrepancies and vendor payment inquiries. The role involves supporting capital investment processes, executing monthly depreciation runs, and calculating quarterly capitalized interest as part of fixed asset accounting duties. You will assist with customer insurance documentation and provide management with financial analyses related to cash flow and operational reporting. Additionally, you will record various month-end journal entries and prepare monthly reconciliations for a variety of balance sheet accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
• Coordinate with financial institutions and departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Support capital investment processes by collaborating with project managers.
• Execute monthly depreciation runs and calculate quarterly capitalized interest.
• Assist with customer insurance documentation.
• Provide financial analyses related to cash flow and operational reporting.
• Record month-end journal entries including payroll, asset transactions, and tax-related entries.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
• Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting and general ledger management.
• Experience with month-end processes and journal entries.
• Knowledge of fixed assets and fixed asset accounting.
• Competence with large ERP systems and Excel.
• 4-year degree in accounting.
• Professional accounting designation preferred (CA, CPA, CGA, CMA, CMT).
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in professional opinions.
• Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
• Advanced Excel skills, especially in financial modeling and analytical techniques.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
