Staff Accountant

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage and process a high volume of invoices on a weekly basis. This role requires manual handling of 50-100 invoices weekly, along with thorough attention to detail. The position involves manual three-way matching from purchase orders to ledger and invoice and requires significant manual input. Responsibilities also include account reconciliation, journal entries, and serving as a backup to the accounts payable team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.
• Receive, process, verify, and reconcile invoices, bank accounts, and credit cards.
• Compare system reports to balances and enter journal entries.
• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers, programs, projects, and entities.
• Act as the primary liaison for the finance team, interfacing with vendors, customers, clinical, and R&D teams for invoices, supply chain management, and purchase order processing.
• Verify vendor and customer accounts, assist with paying vendors, collections, and cash management.
• Resolve purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.

Essential Skills

• Experience in accounts payable and 3-way matching.
• Proficient in accrual accounting and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Intacct or similar.
• Strong communication skills to engage with multiple teams.
• Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.
• Experience in full cycle accounts payable and invoice processing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience in vendor communication and purchase order coding.
• Background in manufacturing, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position based in Marina del Rey. The role requires 100% presence at the site, ensuring close collaboration with various departments and teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
