Job Overview:

The Senior Server Engineer is responsible for supporting the data protect infrastructure in our assigned datacenters, data rooms and other areas as deemed necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:

  Bachelor's degree or equivalent or more years work experience

  n

• n

  Proficiency and very knowledgeable in Data Protection Technologies -Veritas, Cohesity-, Windows Operating Systems both Server and Desktop and/or Linux/Unix Operating Systems

  n

• n

  Proficiency with the VMware Hypervisor, Citrix and related technologies

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency of all server hardware in a datacenter setting -traditional, Converged and Hyper-converged computing platforms

  n
n
• n

  A solid understanding of storage-based technologies in a datacenter setting

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency in scripting languages/technologies for automation and reporting

  n
n
• n

  Ability to schedule upgrades, installations and maintenance with customers and peers

  n
n
• n

  Strong written, verbal, technical and people skills

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency in Information Technology Security best practices

  n
n

Scheduling Requirements:

• n

  Full-time, Day M-F 9a-5p, hybrid 3days in office, either Oceanport or West Orange, NJ facility

  n

• n

  On-call, 24x7 once every 4 weeks

  n
n
• n

  Travel between Oceanport and West Orange, NJ facilities as needed

  n
n

Essential Functions:

  Monitor the data protection infrastructure and provide recommendations to management and peers for improvements, innovations and remediations

  Participate in scheduled or non-scheduled off hour infrastructure upgrades and/or emergencies

  n

• n

  Produce quality documentation for installations, Infrastructure diagrams and computing environments

  n
n
• n

  Participate in mandatory on-call rotation in a 24x7 computing environment

  n

• n

  Ability to work in hybrid workplace and workforce

  n

• n

  Provides excellent customer service with compassion, empathy and a consistent supportive attitude
