Sr Mechanical Engineer

We're seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our design team. You'll be assigned to our offices in Greenville, SC, Appleton, WI or other US based JACOBS office.

As a Career Mechanical Engineer within our Advanced Facilities team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing advanced manufacturing facilities. You'll impact the world around you by solving real-life challenges in the chemical, heavy industrial, and pulp and paper industries while helping clients capitalize on emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  Research, develop, design, and select required equipment, power controls, piping, structures, and earthwork for commercial and industrial purposes

  Lead mechanical engineering aspects of complex facility design projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications

  n

• n

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and scientists to develop innovative solutions

  n
n
• n

  Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions

  n
n
• n

  Create and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports

  n
n
• n

  Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

  n
n
• n

  Interface with clients to understand requirements and present engineering solutions

  n
n
• n

  Conduct site assessments and field investigations as needed

  n
n
• n

  Support project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning

  n

• n

  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and

  n
n
• n

  10+ years of progressive work experience in a Mechanical Engineering role in an EPC environment

  n
n
• n

  Demonstrated expertise in equipment specification, and utility systems across multiple markets ( Life Science, Metals, Chemicals, Mining, Advance Technologies)

  n
n
• n

  Proficiency with engineering design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)

  n
n
• n

  Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)

  n
n
• n

  Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking

  n
n
• n

  Strong project management capabilities including outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  n
n

Ideally, you'll also have:

  Strong experience in material handling and bulk material handling design and specifying.

  n

• n

  Experience with clean room design and/or advanced manufacturing environments preferred

  n
n
• n

  Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Inventor

  n
n
