Sr. Formulation Chemist

Join our team as a Formulation Chemist, where you will be responsible for developing chemical formulas for urethanes, epoxies, silicones, and coatings. This role involves application testing, quality control, and working closely with the production team to scale up new formulas.

Responsibilities

• Develop chemical formulas for urethanes, epoxies, silicones, and coatings.
• Perform application testing and quality control tests to ensure products meet customer specifications.
• Operate testing equipment such as universal testers, dispersers, viscometers, and durometers.
• Collaborate with the production team to scale up the production of new or specific formulas.
• Assist Technical Support groups in resolving customer issues and providing solutions.
• Complete technical data sheets detailing formulas, production processes, and quality control checks.
• Manage multiple projects weekly, including formula development and application testing.

Essential Skills

• Experience in formulation chemistry, specifically with urethanes, epoxies, or silicones.
• Ability to develop specific formulas for larger applications such as tires, molds, and castings.
• Proficiency in scaling formulas to production and setting quality control parameters.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving technical issues during manufacturing.
• Experience with practical application testing to evaluate material durability.
• Knowledge of chemistry, research and development, epoxy, silicone, urethane, and toluene diisocyanate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in formulation and application testing.
• Knowledge of polyurethanes, foam technology, and coatings chemistry.
• Skills in physical chemistry blending and product development.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a chemistry lab developing formulas and utilizing various instruments. Administrative tasks related to projects will be conducted in the office. This is a first shift position, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30/4:30 p.m. Collaborate with all levels of the organization. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr. This company will offer a variety of benefits including health benefits, dental benefits, vision benefits, 401k match, bonuses around Christmas time, etc. They will also offer a number of other supplemental benefits such as life insurance.
