Team Chair Special Education

Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in New Bedford, MA who is currently seeking a Team Chair Special Education to work with students on a contractual basis.

Details of the Position Include:

• Pay Rate: $60/hour (based on experience)
• Start Date: 2 weeks from offer
• Duration: 25/26 School Year
• Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 AM 4 PM
• Requirements:
• DESE Licensure required
• Pre-K experience preferred
• Description:
• Coordinate evaluations and team meetings in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Serve as chairperson for IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and student-centered discussions
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with families throughout the evaluation and IEP process
• No direct instruction or classroom teaching is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
