Special Education Teacher

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking two Special Education Teachers to support middle and high school students in a specialized behavioral classroom setting at the Carlsbad Enrichment Center in Carlsbad, NM. These full-time, in-person roles begin October 13, 2025, and run through May 29, 2026, offering a competitive rate of $40$42/hour.

Position Overview:

• Location: Carlsbad Enrichment Center, Carlsbad, NM
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: May 29, 2026
• Schedule: MondayFriday
• Hours: 37.5/week (approx. 7:30 AM 4:00 PM)
• Modality: In-person only
• Interview: In-person preferred

Classroom Details:

• Grade Levels: Middle and High School
• Setting: Specialized behavioral classroom
• Caseload: Details provided during interview
• Classroom support provided

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with IEPs
• Collaborate with general education staff and participate in student program planning
• Provide tutorial assistance and consult with support teams
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid New Mexico PED teaching license (required)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
• CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
