Special Education - School Aide - Para License Needed - Year Round School

School Aide

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• IL Paraprofessional License
• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Start/End time: 8:00am-3:15pm (36 paid hrs/wk)

Modality: Paraprofessional

Grade Level: School services intellectually and developmentally delayed students aged 3-22 years old. Places paras in positions that match personality and experience- recommend discussing preferences in interview

Caseload Details: Working in a classroom setting with other paraprofessionals and teacher
