Overview

SPD Tech/Surgical Tech role at United Surgical Partners International, Inc (USPI) / Platinum Surgery Center. Position details reference the Platinum Surgery Center facility, with weekday-only scheduling and potential for early mornings or later evenings; schedule is subject to change based on surgical schedule and day flow.

Responsibilities

• The SPD Tech/Surgical Tech provides direct and indirect services to the surgical patient under the supervision of the professional nurse and performs tasks necessary for the efficient and effective functioning of the operating room, as well as the delivery of quality of care.
• Monitors par level of surgical supplies.
• Maintains the proper functioning of surgical instruments.
• Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
