As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

The Android System UI team is a talented group of engineers, UXers and product managers working together to create beautiful and functional UI for Pixel and all Android devices. The broader System UI team's responsibilities include all core Android UI that isn't in an application (i.e., notifications, lock screen, home screen, navigation, multitasking, etc).

In this role, you will be improving the Android system navigation experience. You will focus on gesture navigation, navigation bar on phones, and taskbar on large screen devices as these are fundamental to a user's experience of their device, they must meet an extraordinarily high level of quality and reliability.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
