Overview

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc. As a manager of the software engineering division, apply knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. May have direct reports. May telecommute.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a software engineering team responsible for design, development, debugging and troubleshooting of software applications, operating systems and databases.
• Apply software architecture knowledge to plan and execute development tasks in line with provided design specifications.
• Develop enhancements within an existing software architecture and propose architectural improvements.
• Possibly manage direct reports and coordinate staffing, priorities and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and scalable software solutions.

Qualifications

• Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a software development-related occupation.
• Coding in C, Python and Shell Scripting
• Troubleshooting and fixing Linux Kernel issues
• Kernel programming
• Operating system internals and system programming
• Designing and developing OS components
• Linux virtualization
• Working on network technologies including RDMA, RoCE and InfiniBand
• O/S troubleshooting tools including CRASH and gdb

Benefits and Additional Information

• US Hiring Range: $212,514 - $251,999 per year. May be eligible for bonus and/or equity.
