Landfill Gas Collection System Operator

This role involves maintaining and operating landfill gas collection systems. You will ensure wells and pumps are functioning correctly using hand and power tools for maintenance purposes, and documenting findings on a company-provided laptop. The position offers hourly pay and additional benefits such as a company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, laptop, and company uniforms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the gas collection system to meet performance standards through timely and cost-effective operations and maintenance.
• Perform monthly monitoring of the wellfield, including liquid level measurements in gas extraction wells and monitoring perimeter probes for surface emissions.
• Conduct routine maintenance activities, such as cleaning and maintaining pneumatic pumps, HDPE pipe welding, blower/flare operations, and maintenance of the condensate management system.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards by participating in regular meetings and developing/maintaining operating records.
• Report field conditions and test results to the supervisor and, in some instances, the client.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude
• Experience in outdoor work and construction
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Technology proficiency, particularly in data entry and Microsoft Office

• Experience in landfill operations and inspections
• Environmental awareness
• Maintenance repair skills
• Proficiency with hand tools

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00/hr.
