The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division is on the lookout for a reliable and experienced Carpenter to handle a variety of carpentry and maintenance tasks that ensure our office spaces and facilities are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing. The right candidate will possess a solid background in general construction, finishing work, and minor repairs. This position is crucial for the safety and overall functionality of our workplace.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Execute various carpentry tasks including framing, drywall installation, paneling, cabinetry, and trim work.

• Assist in office renovations and maintain the structural integrity of the building.

• Build and install minor cabinetry and custom projects like display frames for awards.

• Troubleshoot and fix facility issues, including loose carpet tiles, damaged furniture, and more.

• Engage in minor waterproofing and glass maintenance, such as replacing broken glass and fixing seal leaks.

• Perform regular inspections of facility components to identify maintenance needs.

• Ensure all tasks are completed safely and adhere to relevant building codes and safety standards.

• Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.

Basic Qualifications

• TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2-4 years of applicable experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or space planning.

• Working knowledge of maintenance procedures, building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing), and safety standards.

• Ability to conduct routine inspections and maintenance to keep facilities operational.

• Basic understanding of building codes and compliance requirements.

• Experience in budgeting processes and recognizing cost-effective solutions.

• Experience supporting facility project planning and execution, including renovations and vendor coordination.

• Effective communication skills with various stakeholders and service providers.

• Ability to use basic project planning and scheduling tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills related to facility issues.

• Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal supervision while handling multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational certification in facility management, construction management, mechanical systems, or a related field with 5+ years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for education.

• 5+ years of experience in facilities management, space planning, or building operations in a commercial or institutional environment.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing maintenance.

• Familiarity with contract management, including procurement and oversight.

• Experience in developing long-term space utilization plans and managing office relocations.

• Familiarity with facility management software (e.g., CAFM, CMMS, AutoCAD).

• OSHA certification or relevant safety training.

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills for reporting and record-keeping.

• Experience with budgeting and cost allocation in facilities projects.
