Salary Range: $52,000 $62,400/year

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping and Receiving Lead to manage operations within our Packing & Shipping department. This role is essential to ensuring customer orders are packed and shipped accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. You'll also oversee inventory of shipping supplies and contribute to process improvements across the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Pack and ship laboratory products in accordance with SOPs and USDA regulations.
• Act as an authorized USDA sampler and manage test requests for non-licensed products.
• Coordinate shipments with internal teams including Customer Service and Lab Management.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ERP system entries.
• Verify order details including lot numbers, quantities, and documentation.
• Conduct physical inventory counts and manage inter-lab product transfers.
• Support documentation and shipment of custom orders.
• Monitor equipment temperatures and ensure operational readiness.
• Research and source new packing/shipping materials and suppliers.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces.
• Handle hazardous and international shipments in compliance with IATA and DOT regulations.
• Assist with lab production scheduling and inventory management.
• Train team members and maintain departmental SOPs and training documentation.
• Support manufacturing activities and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 23 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory control.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and shipping/freight management software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic math and data entry skills.
• High school diploma or GED (equivalent experience may be considered).

Work Environment

• Exposure to lab-related materials including fumes and chemicals.
• Moderate noise levels.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Visual acuity requirements include close, color, depth, and distance vision.

The pay range for this position is $52,000.00 - $62,400.00/yr.

AVS Bio is the worlds largest producer of Specific Pathogen Free eggs as well as laboratory products and services for the development and manufacture of Biologics. We are establishing a research group to expand our new product offerings across both human and animal health markets.

This is a fully onsite position in Windham,CT.
