Service Manager
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, and ensures that customer's needs are met. Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees or performs the work of all job levels.
Core competencies include: partnerships, growth mindset, results oriented, customer focused, and professionalism.
Reporting relations include: accountable and reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations, and eCommerce. Positions that report to you include all positions except those listed above or designated by the Store Director.
Primary duties and responsibilities include: maintaining a positive attitude, generating a friendly atmosphere, providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, supervising and coordinating activities of employees, and ensuring proper customer service throughout the store.
Secondary duties and responsibilities include: determining the motivational needs of employees, staying current with market trends, providing continuous education for existing store employees, selling merchandise, handling cash registers, and recommending cost reduction programs.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include: the ability to solve practical problems, do arithmetic calculations, interview, and guide people.
Education and experience include: high school or equivalent experience and two years or more of similar or related work experience preferred.
Supervisory responsibilities include: instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning the work of others, maintaining standards, allocating personnel, and coordinating the activities of others. Authority includes recommending employee transfers, promotions, discipline, discharge, and salary adjustments.
Physical requirements include: ability to perform medium work, visual requirements, and various physical activities.
Working conditions include: exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes, possible equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, and exposure to chemicals and solvents. This is a fast-paced work environment.
Equipment used to perform the job includes: pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, knives, trash compactor, cardboard baler, fork lift, computer, calculator, telephone, FAX machine, two wheeler, register computer, ordering machine, use of limited power equipment, delivery vehicle, Western Union, Hunting/Fishing license computer, and money order machine.
Financial responsibility includes: authorized to purchase merchandise and supplies and order repairs on equipment.
Contacts include: daily contact with customers, employees, suppliers/vendors, and the general public. Occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
Confidentiality includes: access to confidential information which may include pricing, sales reports, profit and loss reports, and wages.
