Service Line Specialist - Life Sciences
Cognizant's Intuitive Operations & Automation (IOA) business unit is one of Cognizant's highest growth businesses. To accelerate this growth even further, IOA is fast-growing into industries, service lines and markets globally. One of IOA's strategic growth markets is North America, and we are looking for a highly accomplished, successful Life sciences service line specialist (SLS). This role requires a deep understanding of the Life sciences domain including but not limited to R&D, Clinical, Manufacturing & Supply chain as well as a proven track record in selling complex IT solutions. The person will be responsible for expanding footprints in existing accounts and acquiring new logos, driving revenue growth, and building strategic relationships with key Life sciences clients and ecosystem partners.
Role Summary
Role - The applicant will be hired as a Life sciences SLS within the NA Intuitive Operations and Automation practice.
Location Chicago, IL (Onsite / Hybrid)
Level: Associate Director
Travel Travel will vary depending on customer and prospect requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and achieve sales targets by developing and executing go-to-market strategies for Lifesciences IT services and solutions.
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with Life sciences Pharma & MedTech organizations.
- Stay current on LS industry trends, digital health innovations, and regulatory developments (e.g., GxP, Sox, FDA etc.)
- Proven success in consultative/solution-based selling of IT services such as:
- Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Data analytics & reporting
- Cloud migration & DevOps, Application development & support
- Familiarity with platforms like Veeva, Salesforce, ArisG and other LS industry solution platforms
- Very Good knowledge and expertise in Automation (RPA+IPA), Agentic AI, and Cloud Technologies. Ability to demonstrate industry specific solutions
- Have experience in proposing / selling / delivering large scale automation / application support engagements from L1 to L4.
Certifications Required
Domain or Technology certifications in Lifesciences and AI/ML (Preferred)
Other Skills and Experience
- 15+ Years of Experience in IT Industry with at least 5 years in Sales and customer relationship management
- Good communication and presentation skills and able to demonstrate / defend solutions with executive leadership.
- Bachelor's / Master's degree or equivalent experience in business management / administration; or health case discipline preferred.
- Global Business Services Client-facing GBS project experience is helpful.
- Technology Outsourcing - Background in technology outsourcing solutions is helpful.
Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
The annual salary for this position is between $140,000 - $160,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
