Join Leidos’ Digital Modernization sector as a dedicated Senior Systems Engineer. We are seeking a skilled professional to contribute to the JSP Platform Services team, specifically supporting the DISA JSP customer.

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 PM core hours, with occasional after-hours onsite work required for both NIPR and SIPR environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and implement integrated system configurations for both virtual appliances and physical hardware.

• Provide technical insights and recommendations to leadership regarding hardware lifecycle changes and equipment procurement.

• Evaluate system services and oversee engineering change documentation to ensure all updates align with technical specifications.

• Conduct thorough system analyses and market research, producing white papers to guide modernization efforts.

• Create and execute optimization strategies for enterprise environments, including both unclassified and classified systems.

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for virtual infrastructure and Microsoft server management.

• Coordinate and implement virtual and physical system deployments such as ESXi Hypervisor and VDI upgrades.

• Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions documentation as necessary.

• Perform regular system hardening and security compliance checks across various platforms.

• Oversee ongoing maintenance of Microsoft Server environments, including Domain Controllers and relevant services.

• Manage and update VMware Horizon VDI solutions to ensure optimum performance.

• Facilitate system image build and deployment in accordance with project plans.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in troubleshooting, log analysis, and Linux command line operations.

• Diagnose and rectify system faults to restore service swiftly and effectively.

• Maintain comprehensive system and process documentation.

• Foster a collaborative environment while establishing strong working relationships within the team.

• Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines while delivering high-quality technical support.

• Ensure continuity of services by managing certificate requirements and expirations.

• Test and apply necessary updates across various systems, ensuring all environments remain secure and updated.

• Implement and maintain Dell PowerStore Storage/SAN solutions.

• Conduct STIG compliance checks to uphold system security standards.

• Produce white papers and proposals to evaluate new technologies and developmental opportunities.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 6+ years; equivalent experience may substitute for education.

• Expertise in VMWare ESXi integration and physical server technology.

• Comprehensive understanding of VM Kernel OS installation and virtualization strategies.

• Experience in Windows Server environments, particularly with Failover Clusters.

• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for system management.

• Hands-on experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

• Familiarity with patching and system updates for both Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Experienced in VMware Horizon configurations.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise systems and support services.

• Experience with VMware Virtual Volume solutions for enhanced storage efficiency.

• Understanding of Role Based Access Control (RBAC) in secured environments.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Experience in creating data center diagrams and technical drawings.

• Knowledge of DoD STIG requirements and vulnerability mitigation.

• 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III certification (Security+ CE, VMWare VCP, OS Cert).

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Holding an IAT Level III certification (CASP+CE, CISSP or equivalent).

• VMWare VCAP certification is a plus.

• Certifications in Microsoft Azure fundamentals or Azure Virtual Desktop administration are advantageous.
