Senior Staff Engineer - Electronics Manufacturing (PCBA/DFM)

We are currently seeking a Senior Staff Engineer - Electronics Manufacturing (PCBA/DFM) to support our Medical and Emergency Care teams. This is a hybrid role, and candidates can be based out of Portage, MI or Redmond, WA.

What you will do:

  Collaborate with internal manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers, industrial designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly.

  Act as subject matter expert in PCBA process development and manufacturing for end to end Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles, PCBA mixed technology assembly, advanced inspection automation.

  Lead or support product development efforts with a focus on PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) design, manufacturing, testing, and validation.

  Development and execution of product testing requirements and specifications, including design for testability and testing validation plans.

• n

  Conduct evaluations of testability and coverage for ICT (In-Circuit Testing) and FCT (Functional Circuit Testing) as part of supplier testing strategies and end-of-line product testing validation.

  Development of cable design for manufacturing (DFM) and manufacturing.

• n

  Development of battery specification, battery system integration, and manufacturing.

• n

  Perform validation of electronic assemblies and participate in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities.

  Collaborate closely with suppliers and provide feedback to internal and cross-functional teams.

• n

  Bring deep technical expertise to accelerate team performance and product development.

• n

  Mentor junior engineers, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team environment.

What you need:

Required:

  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Preferred Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering)

  n

• n

  6+ years of related experience in PCBA manufacturing

  n
n
• n

  Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings

  n
n

Preferred:

• n

  Experience in an FDA (Med Device, Med Tech) regulated or regulated industry (Aerospace, Automotive)

• n

  Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), related statistical tools and validation/verification techniques

  n
n
• n

  Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design

  n
n
• n

  Ideal candidate possesses certification in applicable IPC Standards, including IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620

$100,500 - $190,400 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
