As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. Teams work all across the company, in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, user interface design; the list goes on and is growing every day. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

The Google Agentspace team is building the core interface where customers interact with AI across Google Clouddesigning intuitive, scalable, and AI-powered product experiences that accelerate how businesses and developers work. As the Senior Software Engineering Manager for Frontend, you will lead and scale a team, set technical goals, and partner across product, design, and research to deliver delightful user experiences. This role offers the opportunity to stay deeply technical while shaping the strategy, culture, and impact of Agentspace's frontend platform.

The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud's mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the frontend engineering team building Google Agentspace, while remaining capable when needed.

Build, scale, and manage engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Partner with product, design, and research leadership to define and deliver intuitive, AI-powered user experiences at scale.

Guide architecture and system design decisions, ensuring the frontend platform is performant, reliable, and adaptable for future growth.

Mentor and develop engineers, setting clear goals and enabling them to own technical initiatives that shape the long-term goal of Agentspace.
