What You'll Do

• Design, improve, and maintain the core package set that supports software distribution across Anduril, including creating internal tooling and establishing standards.
• Plan architectural changes and support users of the package set; provide expertise for usage of Nix at large scale and assist in training other engineers.
• Operate autonomously in a complex environment and break down intricate problems into simple, workable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency with Nix, Nixpkgs, NixOS, and functional programming in general.
• Deep understanding of build systems and packaging ecosystems; ability to dive into large, complicated systems and improve them with Nix.
• Experience with one or more of the following languages: Rust, C++, Go, Python, Haskell.
• U.S. Person status is required as this role involves access to export controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing cloud resources (e.g., AWS).
• Experience with modern build and deployment tooling and continuous integration (e.g., NixOS, Terraform).
• Experience designing complex software systems and iterating designs through technical design reviews.
• Familiarity with standard monitoring, logging, and data management tools and practices.
• Bias toward rapid delivery and iteration.

Salary and Benefits

US Salary Range: $191,000—$253,000 USD. The salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and business considerations. Equity grants are included in full-time offers as part of total compensation.
