As a Software Engineer (Sr Software Eng) for digital data collection systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing and integrating software for a high-speed data collection system deployed at various Naval ships and facilities.

Design and develop new functionality and apply new technologies to existing functionality
Maintain existing software and integrate new software into existing subsystems - including refactoring to modernize implementations
Java or C+ development experience
Learn quickly and adapt to a wide variety of technologies and tasks that a small team affords
Support hardware integration including hardware (RAID, network, etc.) and operating system adjustments to achieve optimal performance for high bandwidth recording
What sets you apart:
Object Oriented Programming in Java or C++ and C programming experience for high speed data interfaces
Multithreaded programming
Networking protocols and socket programming
Development background in Unix/Linux based operating systems
Bash and Python scripting
Familiarity with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes and other container orchestration technologies
Experience using eXtensible Markup Language (XML)
Experience with Versioning Control systems
Work cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong problem analysis and debugging skills in a system-of-systems environment

Workplace Options:
This position is fully on-site.
While on-site, you will be a part of the Manassas, VA team.
Target salary range: USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $108,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred. Must have previous experience with C++ or Java.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtained within a reasonable amount at time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
