Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

The Platform Security team builds the security tools and primitives that other teams within Chrome use to ship secure features, serve as experts, consultants for other teams across Chrome to draw on, and provide both design and implementation help wherever needed. As an Android Security expert on the Platform Security team, you will be a Chrome-wide point of contact for Android-specific security issues and consultations. You will work across the Chrome team to help other teams deliver secure and quality features, as well as doing project work (on your own, or with other members of the Platform Security team) to build the security frameworks we need and ship browser-wide Android security improvements. Over time, you will also develop iOS expertise and eventually become a mobile security domain expert.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
