Job Title: Sr Software Engineer

Location: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing.
• Undertake the product lifecycle including research, proof of concepts, architect, design, develop, test, deploy and maintenance.
• Design and develop modular, flexible, scalable, secure, reliable and quality solutions that deliver business value through superior user experience; reuse components wherever possible and share components across the organization.
• Analyze requirements and implement software solutions; analyze existing software functionality and code to identify causes of bugs and design solutions.
• Create and maintain technical artifacts such as data models and technical design specifications.
• Design and develop reusable components, frameworks and libraries.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, business analysts, architects, developers and other stakeholders to groom and solution features.
• Review code and approve code merges, providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Lead small projects, mentor, train other team members and facilitate onboarding/ongoing training.
• Provide input to forecasting and planning activities.
• Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.
• Position requires 2 years of experience in: Node Package Manager; Angular; Bootstrap; Java; WCAG; Eclipse and VS Code IDEs; GitHub, JUnit and Agile; SQL and MySQL; YUI; JQPlot; Struts 2; and Sahi.

Compensation

Rate of pay: $158,872.00 - $191,520.00 per year
