Senior Red Hat Enterprise Application Developer

Phase: Engagement Readiness (Technical Oversight)
Providing technical oversight which may include: Implementing a technical prerequisites checklist for you to complete
Providing technical oversight which may include: Validating the technical prerequisites have been completed
Facilitating workshops and/or discussions for: Answering technical questions prior to the engagement in order to better prepare your personnel for the impending engagement
Providing technical oversight which may include: Determining environment readiness for engagement
Phase: Design (JBoss EAP Review/Documenting)
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Current deployment topology and environment configuration
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Current plans for upgrade to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 8.x
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Overall high-level security posture and configuration
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Business continuity plan (i.e., backup, restore, and redeploy procedures)
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Application Deployment and environment promotion strategy and give any recommendations for improvements
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Review and discuss patching and upgrade procedures
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Review deprecated and unsupported features when upgrading and discuss plan for alternative solutions
Phase: JUMP (EAP Operationalization)
Using automation for: Build and run automation scripts/files to perform Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 8.x installation in a non-production environment
Using automation for: Migrate server configuration (e.g., Logging, Web Server, JGroups, EJB, Messaging, JMX Management, and DataSource Changes)
Providing technical oversight which may include: Validate server configuration migration using manual testing
Phase: JUMP (Application Migration)
Providing technical oversight which may include: Run Red Hat Migration Toolkit for Runtimes (RHMTR) on up to 17 deployment artifacts and collect reports
Reviewing, revising, and documenting: Analyze findings from RHMTR report, along with application profile for up to 17 applications
Assist with migration of Applications from Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 7.x to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 8.x
Providing technical oversight which may include: Review existing unit tests/test coverage for application, to set a baseline so test coverage does not decrease post-migration
Providing technical oversight which may include: If needed assist with unit tests to achieve pre-migration test coverage levels
Using a GitOps approach for: Deploy a migrated pathfinder application to dev/test environment

Required Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in a client facing environment
3+ years of experience with Red Hat JBoss (preferably v.7-8+)
Experience automating JBoss with Red Hat Process Automation Manager
Experience running Red Hat Migration Toolkit for Runtimes (RHMTR)
GitOps experience
2-3+ years of Java Experience
