Leidos is looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). In this role, you will play a crucial part in planning, coordinating, and executing major computer network initiatives.

This is a 100% on-site position requiring all work to be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop solutions for complex operational issues within the capabilities of existing equipment.
• Research, assess, and recommend new network equipment and technologies.
• Create and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures, including minor and major outages.
• Utilize performance monitoring tools and network management software to troubleshoot issues, analyze performance, and track data and protocol activity.
• Support functions across various network facilities including physical media, protocol stacks, routers, gateways, and network management components.
• Provide support metrics and reporting to leadership.
• Collaborate with leadership on planning and ensure proper personnel coverage for support activities.
• Review and evaluate resumes for vacancies, playing a key role in candidate interviews.
• Manage work assignments for the team and oversee incident handling within the ServiceNow ITSM ticketing platform.
• Supervise the team’s performance, providing feedback and documenting their progress against corporate guidelines.
• Review and approve timesheets in compliance with corporate standards.
• Maintain flexibility in work schedule; expectation of a standard 8-hour workday, but may be called to assist during outages.

Basic Qualifications:

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining multi-network transport.
• Expertise in configuring and deploying Cisco LAN/WAN switches, routers, firewalls, and Intrusion Prevention/Intrusion Detection devices.
• In-depth troubleshooting experience with network protocols such as VoIP, ATM, MPLS, and others.
• Prior experience in supervising others.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
• Strong mentoring skills to lead a technical team, including managing direct reports.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively engage with contractors and government personnel.
• Must meet DoD - IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or similar).
• Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Clearance:

• Due to the nature of our government contracts, US Citizenship is required.
• TS/SCI with Poly required for this position or willingness to obtain a polygraph clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any of the following certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Voice Professional, Network+, among others.
