Pay Range: $95,000.00 - $171,000.00. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. As a Senior Network Engineer on our Backbone Network team, you will play a critical role in building, operating, and automating the Backbone Network that supports over 2000 locations. Your expertise will influence the architecture and implementation of robust and scalable systems. You will leverage a mix of traditional networking and software development to enhance user experience and ensure smooth operations.

Your responsibilities include:

• Deploying new technologies in the field and improving connectivity for Team Members and Guests.
• Solving complex network problems, with a focus on automation and operational reliability.
• Transitioning from a legacy platform to a modern SD-WAN platform.
• Leading research and proof-of-concept initiatives for new technologies.
• Conducting code and design reviews, testing, and debugging.
• Participating in routine construction and implementation activities, ensuring compliance with architectural best practices.
• Providing technical oversight and coaching to resolve high-level technical issues.

About You:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 5 years in network and/or software engineering.
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies, especially Versa, is preferred.
• Familiarity with Cisco Routers and cellular devices.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and experienced with Linux and BGP.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills within a team environment.
• A record of supporting technology platforms and resolving production issues.
• An interest in current and emerging technologies in networking, such as open-source solutions and cloud services.
• A commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated on technological advancements.

This position supports a Hybrid/Flex work arrangement. Work will be performed both onsite at the Target HQ in MN and virtually, depending on team needs.
