Job Overview:

BJ's Wholesale Club is on the lookout for a highly skilled and adaptable Network Engineer and IT Generalist to support our Perishable Distribution Center. This hybrid role will focus primarily on network engineering and operations (80%) while also handling general IT support responsibilities (20%). The ideal candidate will possess expertise in network infrastructure, including routing, switching, SDWAN, and WiFi, as well as a solid foundation in IT infrastructure and end-user support.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Engineering (80%):

• Support overall connectivity at the Perishable Distribution Center.
• Collaborate with various Network teams (L2 NOC and L3 Network) to maintain network infrastructure. Tasks may include device reboots, cable replacements, hardware installations, etc.
• Effectively triage and troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and WiFi.
• Showcase proficiency in optimizing WiFi networks.
• Assist with network and infrastructure support, including basic switch/port configuration and VLAN segmentation.
• Act as remote hands for L2 NOC and L3 Network teams during troubleshooting and maintenance activities, focusing on industrial WiFi coverage and interference reduction.
• Maintain organized cable management in all IDF and MDF locations.
• Collaborate with IT vendors for on-site support as needed.
• Perform onsite validation of connectivity during IT changes and maintenance windows.

IT Generalist Support (20%):

• Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, servers, and handheld devices.
• Assist existing BJ's locations in the territory and support new club openings.
• Work alongside corporate IT and third-party vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Train club staff on technology use and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and security protocols.
• Provide Level 1 triage for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and collaborate with WMS teams on resolution efforts.
• Utilize ServiceNow for managing incidents, requests, changes, and problems.
• Coordinate vendor service visits and warranty repairs.
• Support and troubleshoot Android and iOS mobile devices used in clubs and distribution centers.
• Deploy and support mobile devices, including Honeywell, VoCollect, Zebra, and various Apple & Windows devices.
• Lead IT project initiatives both at the PDC and across territory locations.
• Document architectural designs and service data related to mobility solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical support or network engineering role, ideally within a retail or distribution setting.
• Hands-on experience with Aruba Networks (Switches, Access Points), Ekahau Wireless Tools, and Fortinet firewalls is a plus.
• Experience in a fast-paced mobile distribution environment, particularly with WiFi on moving forklifts.
• Familiarity with Workspace ONE (Airwatch) and mobile devices (Zebra, Honeywell).
• Strong troubleshooting abilities across Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
• Solid understanding of networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and in a team setting.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems, POS systems, and retail technology is advantageous.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. The pay range for this position starts at $98,000.00.
