Job Summary:
BJ's Wholesale Club is looking for a skilled and versatile Senior Mobility Engineer & IT Specialist to support our Perishable Distribution Center. This hybrid role focuses primarily on mobile device engineering (80%) and includes general IT support (20%). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mobile device management, deployment, troubleshooting, and foundational IT infrastructure support, acting as the key IT professional at the Perishable Distribution Center with specialization in Mobility Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Mobility Engineering (80%)
- Act as the primary engineer for Android and iOS devices across various clubs and distribution centers.
- Configure, deploy, and support a range of mobile devices such as Honeywell, VoCollect, Zebra TC series, Apple iPads, and Windows CE devices.
- Manage and maintain MDM platforms, mainly Workspace ONE (Airwatch), including device enrollment, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot escalated mobility issues using remote management tools while collaborating with club users and IT teams.
- Support mobile-related upgrades ensuring optimal performance across platforms.
- Lead projects including MDM cleanup, lifecycle refreshes, and ad-hoc business requests.
- Document architectural designs, network communication services, and traffic data related to mobility solutions.
IT Generalist Support (20%)
- Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, servers, and handheld devices.
- Assist with network and infrastructure support including device reboots, cable replacements, and basic switch/port configuration.
- Act as remote hands for L2 NOC and L3 Network teams during troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Support new club openings providing on-site assistance in key operational phases.
- Collaborate with corporate IT and third-party vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Train club personnel on optimal use and maintenance of technology.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all technical work ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) - Blue Yonder with close collaboration on Level 1 WMS issues.
- Utilize ServiceNow for incident, request, change, and problem management.
- Coordinate with vendors for service visits and warranty repairs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a technical support or mobility engineering role, ideally in a retail or distribution setting.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Workspace ONE (Airwatch) and Zebra and Honeywell devices.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills across Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
- Understanding of networking technologies including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems, POS systems, and retail technology is a plus.

The estimated compensation for this position starts at $98,000.00. Salary may vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
