Senior Manager, Specialty Compliance And Ethics (IP Policy & Risk)

The Senior Manager, Specialty Compliance and Ethics (IP Policy & Risk) leads global intellectual property policy development and strategic enforcement initiatives across Walmart's ecommerce platforms. The right person in this role oversees external-facing guidance, internal training, and operational workflows to ensure consistent, clear, and customer-trust-driven IP practices. With direct and dotted-line reports, the Senior Manager partners across Legal, Compliance, and Operations to drive global alignment, monitor emerging risks, and strengthen Walmart's brand protection posture.

We collaborate closely with Legal, Product, Engineering, and global stakeholders to ensure Walmart's IP practices are transparent, consistent, and responsive to evolving risks. What You'll Do...

1. Lead the development of Walmart's global IP policies and external-facing guidance, ensuring clarity and regional legal alignment.
2. Oversee internal training content and rollout strategies to improve notice handling and reduce escalation risk.
3. Manage SOPs, workflows, and templates to support scalable enforcement operations.
4. Monitor global IP risk trends and partner with stakeholders to proactively update policies and protocols.
5. Manage a team including direct reports, dotted-line contributors, and offshore support agents.
6. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure consistency and clarity across markets.

What you'll bring...

• 35+ years of experience in intellectual property enforcement, brand protection, or legal operations.
• Proven ability to develop and communicate policy across global teams and external audiences.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of IP concerns in ecommerce and regional legal nuances.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A high degree of ownership and independenceable to drive initiatives forward with minimal oversight, proactively identifying needs, identifying solutions, and driving to resolution.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Expertise in Excel, with the ability to analyze data and trends to inform strategic planning and operational improvements.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 4 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 6 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 2 years' supervisory experience. 3 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
