Senior Manager, Safety Training And Communication

As the Senior Manager of Safety Training and Communication, you will lead the development and execution of safety-related training content and communication strategies across Walmart U.S. operations. You'll play a critical role in ensuring our associates receive clear, consistent, and actionable safety messaging that supports compliance, engagement, and operational excellence. This role partners cross-functionally with Safety Governance, Learning & Development, Operations, and Corporate Affairs to deliver impactful content that drives a culture of safety.

What You'll Do

• Develop and manage the lifecycle of safety training content, including SOPs, job aids, digital modules, and campaign materials.
• Translate complex safety policies into accessible, engaging content tailored for field, supply chain, and corporate audiences.
• Lead communication planning for safety initiatives, including enterprise-wide campaigns, incident alerts, and leadership messaging.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to integrate safety content into digital platforms and instructor-led training.
• Maintain governance over content versioning, approvals, and audit readiness.
• Monitor content performance and training effectiveness, using data to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure alignment with Walmart's Safety Governance Framework and regulatory standards.
• Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, including Walmart Academy, Legal, Corporate Affairs, and Operations.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in Communications, Occupational Safety, Instructional Design, or related field.
• Strong background in safety, training, or content management within a large enterprise.
• Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills.
• Experience with content management systems, LMS platforms, and digital communication tools.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred: Experience in retail, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
• Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) and certification in safety (e.g., CSP, CHST) or instructional design (e.g., ATD, CPTD).

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications:

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related area and 3 years' experience in project management, compliance, operations management, or related area. Option 2: 5 years' experience in project management, compliance, operations management, or related area. 2 years' experience managing budgets, profit-and-loss statements, or relate financial processes. 3 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration or related area.
