Senior Manager Search Strategy

Walmart Global Communications is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager Search Strategy to lead information discovery approaches across internal and external platforms. This role is ideal for a naturally curious, forward-thinking individual who can guide the transition from keyword-based to semantic/GenAI search capabilities across our communication product suite. The successful candidate will drive strategic transformation, continuous optimization, and business priority alignment to enhance how key audiences engage with Walmart's content. This role also serves as the business owner for content relevancy products (search and analytics) and a trusted source for SEO best practices.

What You'll Do

• Lead the evolution from keyword-based to semantic and GenAI-powered search across internal and external platforms.
• Shape and execute search strategies that elevate how Walmart communicates its story.
• Align search initiatives with business priorities, ensuring measurable impact and risk mitigation.
• Build and manage feedback loops to continuously improve search relevance and performance.
• Leverage data and analytics to refine search outcomes and inform decision-making.
• Champion an analytics-driven approach to content strategy and audience engagement.
• Define and prioritize enhancements and fixes in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Maintain a forward-looking product roadmap that balances short-term wins with long-term vision.
• Oversee documentation and cross-functional collaboration to support machine learning and AI-driven solutions.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in search strategy, SEO, or related fields, especially with semantic and GenAI search.
• Proficiency in data analytics and decision-making based on data.
• Familiarity with search technologies, UX, and digital content management.
• Ability to analyze query logs and identify search quality improvements.
• Background in text processing, information retrieval, NLU, or machine learning.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related field and 3 years experience in creative or content experience, project management, or a related field OR 5 years experience in creative or content experience, project management, or a relevant area.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in Multimedia Production Management (MPM), Certified Multimedia Professional (CMP) certification, Experience leading creative teams and managing large scale content projects.
