Senior Information Security Consultant

Join Capital One as a Senior Information Security Consultant, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our Information Security initiatives. Your expertise will not only guide projects but will also empower teams across the organization to adopt superior security practices.

In this forward-thinking role, you will:

• Act as the central point of contact for key services including Data Protection, Endpoint Security, and Cyber Intelligence.
• Provide proactive consulting to business and technology teams covering a range of areas such as Infrastructure Security, Data Security, and User Access Management.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Capital One’s Information Security policies, solutions, and standards.
• Encourage teams to integrate security measures early in the development process.
• Manage and escalate cybersecurity risks effectively.
• Offer ad hoc support on emerging Information Security topics.
• Regularly update executive leadership regarding the Information Security landscape within your line of business.
• Collaborate with leadership to anticipate their needs and objectives to drive results.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• A minimum of 6 years in cybersecurity or information technology.
• At least 5 years providing oversight of cybersecurity concepts.
• A minimum of 5 years in security risk assessments or architecture reviews.
• At least 5 years in architecture, software design, networking, or cloud infrastructure.
• A minimum of 4 years in cloud security engineering and securing public cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience building software on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with Cloud patch management practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge in Software Security Architecture and Application Security.
• Experience with Threat Modeling, Penetration Testing, or Vulnerability Management.
• Proficiency in integrating SaaS products into enterprise environments.
• Experience securing Container services.
• Insight into Enterprise Monitoring tools.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Professional certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect and CISSP.
• Experience in Offensive or Defensive Security techniques.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments.

This position is located in McLean, VA, with a salary range of $225,400 - $257,200, or in Plano, TX, with a range of $204,900 - $233,800 for a Sr Manager, Cyber Technical. Incentive compensation options and an extensive benefits package are available to support your well-being.
