As a member of the Blue Origin family of companies Honeybee Robotics has been at the forefront of robotics for over 40 years, establishing ourselves as pioneers in developing novel exploration systems for the most extreme planetary environments. At our Southern California location, we look to "Touch Life" by supporting planetary science, including every NASA Mars rover since Spirit and Opportunity. We aim to "Mine the Sky" through the development of practical In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) solutions. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Lead efforts in testing and validation of robotics software and control systems.
• Manage software field deployments and provide support on-site and remotely to customers.
• Derive and own software system requirements and schedules.
• Evaluate and identify improvements to system design with a specific focus on robust autonomy.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineering managers, product management, and program management to drive new product development programs from concept to production.
• Provide hands-on support to multi-functional product development teams servicing markets, including space, defense, manufacturing, and other industries.
• Write requirements and specification documents.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of applicable embedded software development experience.
• Proficient in developing applications using C/C++.
• Proficient in applying testing frameworks and conducting unit tests. Familiarity with automated testing methodologies and continuous integration practices.
• Experience working with many sensors and camera systems.
• Experience developing autonomous safety critical fault recovery code.
• Experience developing reliable software architectures for critical systems.
• Experience developing code for Yocto-Linux Systems.
• Adept with Git version control system.
• Proficient in building maintainable and versatile multithreaded and multi-process applications in an RTOS environment.
• Understanding of digital communication protocols (Ethernet, USB, asynchronous serial, CAN, SPI, I2C).
• Background in space flight avionics or ground systems software.
• Experience with navigation visualization tools.
• Familiar with reading circuit schematics and performing basic debugging tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with operational control of a remotely controlled mission with large latencies
• Skilled in Python scripting.
• Capable of writing software for controlling BLDC motors.
• Background in developing software for vehicles.

Compensation Range for: $177,567.00-$248,593.80 Other site ranges may differ
