We are urgently seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer specializing in warehousing practices, including slotting and racking. This position is essential for our Supply Chain Solutions division. The ideal candidate will possess customer-facing experience within a warehouse distribution environment. - Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month
- Annual Salary Pay: $100,000 - $110,000 per year based on experience
- Bonus: 10% annually
- Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm (Flexible)

This position is vital for promoting the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture. You will actively implement continuous improvement methods to enhance both new and existing operations. Your role will include identifying and driving meaningful changes within operations through data-driven continuous improvement, engineering, and automation efforts to meet performance goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
Essential Functions
- Collect and analyze data, mapping and documenting processes while identifying gaps and proposing feasible improvements. Execute a strategic continuous improvement plan that adds value for our customers.
- Lead impactful CI projects throughout the organization, assessing initiatives and providing future recommendations. Assist with start-ups, retrofits, and expansions.
- Exhibit expertise in various engineering methods, lean tools, and quality standards while coaching employees on continuous improvement processes.
- Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Events, guiding teams through all phases to sustain improvements.
- Regularly present reports detailing progress against the site objectives and make strategic recommendations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a Quality Management System in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Implement and oversee oversight of a standardized corrective action system.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts and certification requirements.
- Perform functions essential for Quality Assurance in a start-up or expansion setting.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio.
- Intermediate-level capability in data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX).
- Proficiency in implementing Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, and various Lean methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of core engineering functions including data analysis, slotting, labor planning, and optimization.
- Advanced knowledge in warehouse design tools and management systems.
- Familiarity with material handling solutions, ranging from powered industrial trucks to automation systems.
- Understanding transportation design tools and their applications in logistics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business, Supply Chain) with seven or more years of related experience, or a Master's (Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management) with five years of related experience.
- Lean Six Sigma certification required; cPMP, ISO/QMS certifications preferred.
- APICS and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification are highly desirable.
