GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

As a Senior Cashier, you will be essential in managing efficient guest transactions and maintaining exceptional cashwrap standards. With your cashiering experience, you'll train and support new cashiers and work collaboratively with your team. Your focus will be on driving guest loyalty and delivering exceptional experiences while ensuring compliance with operational standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Cashier embodies Ulta Beauty's mission and should skillfully perform the following duties:

Performance

• Contribute to achieving store goals related to retail sales, guest loyalty, and minimizing shrinkage.
• Provide exceptional service by creating a warm and engaging environment for each guest.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously and efficiently.
• Facilitate personalized services like makeup applications and product demonstrations.
• Assist in scheduling appointments and executing in-store events for an unmatched guest experience.
• Maintain cashwrap displays to ensure they are organized and ready for guests.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are expected.

People

• Foster an inclusive atmosphere that values teamwork and guest engagement.
• Assist leadership with cashier chats and exit inspections as needed.
• Stay informed about industry trends and products to better assist guests.
• Promote the benefits of our loyalty program and create excitement around achieving credit goals.
• Support the training of new cashiers and cross-train associates.
• Demonstrate leadership by motivating peers to excel in performance.
• Participate in ongoing training for continuous professional development.
• Collaborate with team members to drive the business forward.

Process

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures.
• Adhere to the dress code and maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
• Manage all transactions effectively while safeguarding cash and media.
• Assist with register open and close functions as directed.
• Uphold high standards of store cleanliness in all areas.
• Support loss prevention and operational efficiency by following procedures.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to delegate, multitask, and solve problems effectively.
• A strong passion for guest service and demonstrated sales competency.
• Experience in handling guest inquiries and delivering exceptional service.
• Proven track record in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.

Skills

• Proficient with technology, including Point of Sale systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Capability to build lasting customer relationships.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible scheduling is required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Continuous mobility throughout the store, including bending and reaching.
• Frequent lifting and moving of items up to 25 lbs.
• Coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Full-time associates may be eligible for additional benefits.
