Senior Billing Supervisor

Overview

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team supporting our mission. This position will entail coordination and management of the e-billing and payment cycle workflow related to payment posting, charge corrections, and monthly reconciliation of payments to bank deposits for the Firm’s offices, along with other duties as assigned.

Base pay range

$91,800.00/yr - $132,600.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate observance of e-billing requirements and processes
• Prepare monthly, semi-monthly, and ad-hoc billing reports for internal and external clients
• Ensure timely invoice submission to clients based on established timelines
• Create and distribute ad hoc operational and billing reports to management as requested
• Work with Controller and Accounting Department to identify, review, and recommend changes to automate or enhance timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency of billing processes
• Support internal and external auditors as requested
• Supervise e-billing and receivables staff
• Evaluate e-billing and receivables staff skill levels, and recommend training or changes
• Provide feedback to staff performance appraisals, develop performance management objectives, address concerns, drive engagement and retention; participate in team hiring and separation decisions
• Delegate assignments and projects to staff as appropriate

Qualifications

• Ability to influence and articulate initiatives, projects, results, and analyses to senior leadership and staff, with clear and succinct communication
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, professional demeanor
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills; takes initiative and uses good judgment with excellent follow-up
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver high-quality work product accurately
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional, collaborative team
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• Five years of legal billing/receivables experience with knowledge of accounting principles and billing software; advanced experience in e-billing
• Two years of supervisory experience in a similar role
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Access
