Senior Associate, Trade & Customs

Overview

KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Trade and Customs practice. You will be part of a dynamic team at one of the world\'s top tax firms, collaborating with a network of specialists and leveraging Ignition Centers to develop innovative tax solutions for high-profile clients. The role offers formal training and mentoring within a culture that emphasizes invest­ment in people and the firm\'s values.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on import and export matters
• Research U.S. and international import and export trade matters
• Explore, write, and review international trade advice
• Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
• Aid in the development and training of team members
• Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction
• Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG\'s respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of recent import/export experience in trade and customs as a customs attorney, customs broker, U.S. Customs auditor, or import specialist, including experience with The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes, valuation, and informed compliance methods
• Bachelor\'s degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Master\'s in Taxation (MST); LCB or other relevant trade certification preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Access and Excel
• Demonstrated project management experience with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future; no visa sponsorship is provided for this opportunity
